ECU Updates
I returned to Montego Bay last Friday, November 14th, and spent Saturday and Sunday morning on the eastern side of the island.
It was a significant trip for me. I wanted to support the 10th-year Church anniversary of Family Word and Worship with our dear friends, Pastor Junior and Trudy Tucker. I was also blessed to attend the Church where I first publicly acknowledged and answered the call of God on my life to preach the Gospel. I was 9 years old then. What a blessing to stand at that same spot 50 years later and to have the Church pray for me again. I was able to leave a gift for their hurricane Melissa outreach. I also bought several cases of water and hurricane recovery equipment for use in distribution in the West.
Back in Montego Bay, it has been a busy week of getting the ECU office cleaned out and secured. We’ve been sorting, drying, and putting up blue tarps on the roof of the academy building.
We have a generator, and the Starlink system is now operational. We have opened up a separate banking account for all ECU Disaster Response donations. Please visit our website for the details and for information about our hurricane disaster response.

We’re doing the assessment of the needs of our students who were impacted by the hurricane, of pastors and Churches in the St. James Ministers’ Fraternal and Jamaican Association of Full Gospel Churches. The biggest challenge is phone and Internet problems. Many people are in communication black out or have very spotty reception. Our team will be taking taxis and personally visiting them during this coming week.
Big need: Boots on the ground.
We need willing helpers, both skilled and unskilled. Any amount of time will make a big difference. We will do our best to match you up with a suitable project. We have dorm-style accommodation, a few individual rooms, and a cafeteria available on the Teamwork Campus, as well as access to transportation, villas, and various-sized hotels in the area.
